Nail Rock-Nail Wraps REVIEW
Having heard a lot of positive reviews and feedback about the new trend ‘nail wraps’ I decided that it was time that I checked them out!
The nail wraps were a lot easier to use than I first imagined, and required about fifteen minutes of concentration. The thing with the nail wraps is, is if you don’t pay attention to what you’re doing they can end up looking rather tacky.
The instructions were simple enough to follow, however I found that it was a lot easier to have someone help you to put them on. It can be done single handedly, and I think that next time I wear some I’ll be able to put them on for myself, however, first time round I required some assistance, especially when it cam to cutting them down to size. It’s probably best to cut them down to size first, before sticking them on, that way you save a lot more of the product.
I decided to opt for the ‘black and white stripes’ nail wrap design, as I thought that the design was really effective-it was simple enough for people to assume that I had painted my nails myself, yet stood out enough for people to comment-the perfect balance!
(how they looked on the first night)
Priced at £6.65 I thought that they were rather good value for money, and equalled about the same price of a higher-end quality high street nail varnish-however of course, you don’t have the luxury of re-wearing the nail wraps! The packet stated that the designs last up to ten days, something that I was very sceptical of, however, I was proved wrong!
I wore my nails wraps for six days, and when it came to taking them off (which requires you just peeling them from the tip of the nail) I found it was REALLY tough! The glue is very strong, which is good-however I found it stained my nails slightly, and even bathing them in hot water and cleaning them with remover didn’t make much difference to the glue that was still on my nails. My only other criticism that I found, was that they dried out my cuticles slightly-so just keep topping up with cuticle cream (I rely on my Leighton Denny Cuti-Lips) For some reason I really expected them to chip, and was adamant that they would, however, they stayed true to their word, and remained chip-free.
All in all, I was VERY impressed with Nail Rock, and will definitely be trying them out again, and DEFINITELY recommend them. I now have my eye on ‘white dots on red’.
The last day I wore them. You can see that the design is becoming slightly raised around my cuticles, which was due to them being submerged in hot water when I was showering, and the colour-especially the black lost some of it’s original colour and shine. Dirt and make-up was also attracted slightly to the tip of the nail designs.
